| Reason for being in a wheelchair: | The first thing people notice about me is my wheelchair. I mean it’s kind of hard to miss. Unfortunately that’s all most people who don’t know me see. I was a firefighter for 8 years before being injured in the line of duty. The accident resulted in two broken hips and several damaged disk in my lower back and neck. Doctors were able to put me back together but it did end my career as a firefighter. In May of 2018 one of the repaired disk in my back failed and ruptured into my spine resulted in the loss of feeling and control from the waist down. |
